Alephant Gateway

View as Markdown

OpenModels API access runs on Alephant Gateway infrastructure. Alephant Gateway is the production gateway layer behind OpenModels model requests, handling provider routing, fallback, policy control, caching, usage tracking, and observability before traffic reaches upstream model providers.

Open Alephant

Why it matters

OpenModels is not built as a proxy chain or shared reseller-key layer. It uses Alephant Gateway to route requests through managed provider supply, keep request behavior OpenAI-compatible, and expose the operational controls needed for production AI applications.

Gateway capabilities

CapabilityWhat it does
Provider adaptationNormalizes upstream APIs, errors, streaming, usage, and response formats.
Routing controlRoutes traffic by model, provider, availability, policy, or workspace rules.
Fallback resilienceRecovers from slow, unavailable, or rate-limited providers with controlled fallback.
Policy enforcementApplies API key limits, provider allowlists, budgets, and workspace-level controls.
Caching layerReduces repeated upstream calls with response caching and semantic cache support.
ObservabilityTracks request logs, usage, latency, failures, traces, and audit events.
